The Institute of Free Trade Zones of Sun Yat-Sen University recently unveiled the 2024-2025 Institutional Innovation Index of China’s Pilot Free Trade Zones. The China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone Suzhou Area (Suzhou FTZ) ranks tenth among 57 areas nationwide, rising three places, and it is in the first place among the country’s fifth group of pilot free trade zones.

The Institutional Innovation Index of China’s Pilot Free Trade Zones has been released for the tenth consecutive year. As a result of systematic study on pilot free trade zones’ institutional innovations and future reform directions, it provides constructive insights and inspirations for implementation of institutional innovation policies in these zones.

The Suzhou FTZ has been regarding institutional innovation as a core task. It has pulled off 240 institutional innovation achievements that play a pioneering or leading role in Jiangsu province and even nationwide, including 13 being rolled out nationally and 59 duplicated across Jiangsu.
