An exhibition opened at the Ming Gallery of Art in SIP on July 12, showcasing about 80 traditional painting and calligraphy works by 42 eminent Chinese Buddhist monks and over 20 artists.
Among the exhibits, the paintings on Bodhi leaves are especially eye-catching. Created with extraordinary traditional techniques, each of these works embodies the creator’s unwavering dedication to art and profound understanding of traditional culture.
A salon session on inheritance and development of Bodhi leaf painting as an intangible cultural heritage element was held on the same day.
The exhibition is scheduled to last till Aug 10. Visitors can appreciate the exhibits free of charge any day except Monday when the gallery is closed.
