Since January, SIP has given 422 “housing coupons” worth RMB54 million to eligible talents, driving conclusion of house purchasing contracts valuing more than RMB1.5 billion.

Under the relevant policy, a talent who does not own a house in SIP and has paid into the social insurance fund or paid individual income tax in SIP for at least six months can get a “housing coupon” of RMB70,000 to 250,000 based on academic degree for buying a house from the designated residential quarters.

An online system was launched as the policy was announced to make application for the “housing coupons” easier.

Over the past few months, SIP has been striving to increase houses available under the policy.

“There are now 41 projects in five sub-districts, with houses of various kinds to meet the needs of different talents,” said a staff member of SIP Planning and Construction Committee.
